  1. Midwestener who ordered crawfish online, here. This was AMAZING. Never tried gumbo before in my life, but the husband ordered a bunch of crawfish for a seafood boil (used this place if anyone else away from LA has trouble: http://livecrawfishdelivery.com/), and we had some left over. It was an incredible addition to our recent unseasonable snowfall!

    1. Yes, this soup is often made with shrimp, too. And smaller/medium shrimp work well in this soup — use the larger shrimp for something really special. Enjoy! I sometimes forget that we are spoiled by the variety of fresh and frozen shrimp/seafood down here.
