When I think of Super Bowl Sunday and party foods; I always think of Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers and Cane’s Sauce. Raising Cane’s is a fast food restaurant chain founded in Baton Rouge serving hot, juicy fried chicken fingers and an incredible dipping sauce. Cane’s was the unanimous choice for party foods when my kids were growing up. “Just get Cane’s, mom,” they would chant.

Hot soup and sandwich on a cold winter day makes a heart-warming, soothing meal. Savory Vegetable Beef Soup reminds me of a soup served at a small restaurant, Ludwig’s Center Stage Cafe, in upstate New York.The deli shoppe at the prestigious Eastman School of Music in Rochester serves sandwiches and wraps named after composers and musical compositions. Sipping Mimosas and Sightseeing in New Orleans
We enjoy taking days trip to New Orleans and just bumming around. Usually we’ll try out a new restaurant, stop for beignets and coffee au lait and visit an attraction. On New Year’s Day we planned to eat brunch the Ruby Slipper restaurant and later stop by Audubon Park to see an impressive live oak tree. I’ve included a recipe for mimosas, an orange juice cocktail, which is found on brunch menus in these New Orleans restaurants.
Mrs. Bankston’s Lemon Meringue Pie with Meyer Lemons
Have you tried cooking with Meyer lemons? They are very large and are mild, sweet with a lemony flavor. I want to start the new year in 2016 by cooking with some new foods as well eating more fruits and vegetables.
