  1. Good for you, getting resourceful with your instant pot to overcome the early summer heat! I like that you inched them toward the “whole grain” side of things, too. I remember the yeast shortage, and was thankful that I had my sourdough starter. As I recall, part of the problem was the packaging for yeast. They just couldn’t keep up!

    If you still have a few packets of your yeast, you can extend their life by sealing them tightly in a zip top bag in the freezer. You don’t need to bring them to room temp before using them.

    1. What a great idea to freeze the yeast! I will probably do that as I’m out of steam for breadmaking for awhile! I had a sourdough starter years ago and made bread weekly. Gee, those we the days. So lucky you have one now.
